About this Site
The site was originally created as a project to learn html/javascript. Most of the code
was hand written. Later the site was modified and JAlbum was used to generate the html
pages for the thumbnails and image viewing. Adobe PhotoShop was used to optimise the photographs,
which were scanned using a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II scanner.
The site is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
The site contains pictures that I have taken, as I visit / hill walk in Scotland. The Links page
contains links to some useful sites I have used in my travels.
A selection of images are available for purchase.
Born in 1966 in Glasgow and now living in Perth, I work as a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator for a local employer.
Before becoming a UNIX Systems Administrator, I worked as a Software Engineer.
It was through work that I got introduced to hill walking, as several of my colleagues
are also keen hill walkers.
I have been interested in photography from any early age, being introduced to it by my father,
but it wasn't until I started hill walking that I really got into landscape photography.
I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures, and maybe they will encourage you to visit the
locations where they were taken. If you can suggest any places to visit, then I would be happy to hear from you.
The main cameras used are a Minolta X-700 and a Minolta XD-7 with
17mm and 20mm Ultra-Wide Angle, 24-35mm, 35-135mm and 100-300mm zoom lenses.
All lenses are genuine Minolta lenses. Polarising, graduated grey
and neutral density filters are occasionally used. A Minolta SRT 303b occasionally
comes out of retirement.
I also use 2 Minolta 800Si and a Minolta Dynax 7D with 19-35mm, 28-105mm and 75-300mm lenses.
The images from the 7D are stitched
together to make the panoramic photographs.
Most shots are taken on Fuji Sensia II 100 ASA film. Agfa CTX100 and Kodachrome 64 was also used
in the past.
